The Campaign for an American Solution is a non-partisan, educational and grassroots initiative of America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), the national trade association whose members provide coverage to more than 200 million people.
Our campaign in grounded in reform principles that are shared by the American people:

We have offered comprehensive policy solutions to cover all Americans, to make health care more affordable and to improve the quality, value and safety of care. We want to know what you think of these proposals and we want to hear your suggestions as well. So we are traveling around the country to hear your stories, understand your experiences and listen to your ideas on how to make our health care system work better for all Americans.
We are asking Americans who support the Campaign’s core principles to join us. We are reaching out to all Americans who want to build on the strengths of the current system, reduce costs, get every American covered, and improve value throughout our health care system.
The health care system needs to be reformed because:
- Health care costs too much
- It’s unacceptable that 47 million Americans are uninsured
- No one should fall through the cracks of our health care system
- Losing your job shouldn’t mean losing your insurance
The challenge for our country is to develop a reform proposal that blends the best of the public and private sector to achieve reform and provide coverage for all Americans without disrupting coverage for those who have it.
