From NECN/ABC News: President Obama's plan to overhaul the nation's health care system is being met with some harsh criticism from Republicans in Congress. They are concerned about how to pay for reform that is projected to cost much more than the president estimated.
The fight in the Senate has been all about costs. President Obama was banking on reforming healthcare for a trillion dollars, but preliminary estimates by the Congressional Budget Office put the price tag as high as $1 .6 trillion. Democrats are struggling to bring that down.
Even among Democrats, there is no consensus on how to pay for it.
