The Campaign for an American Solution (the “Campaign”) is concerned with safeguarding your privacy on-line.  Accordingly, the Campaign has developed this policy statement to assist you in understanding why the Campaign collects particular information and how the Campaign will protect your personal privacy (the "Privacy Policy").  By making you aware of the Campaign's data collection and use practices, we can provide you with better service.

The following information summarizes our information gathering and dissemination practices for the Campaign’s site located at the URL, www.americanhealthsolution.org (the “Site”).

What Information Does the Campaign Collect?


Users may visit the website without giving the Campaign any personal information. However, the Campaign will collect names and other personal information voluntarily provided by individuals who would like to receive periodic e-mail updates or other information such as newsletters on issues related to health care reform including legislation, political campaigns, and other efforts.  The Campaign may periodically contact individuals to ask them to take action on health care reform issues, including asking them to contact elected representatives or candidates for political office.  The Campaign may also collect Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from all users of our Site, the date and time of access, and may catalog the type of computer, browser, or operating system used by the user.  

How Does the Campaign Use that Information?


The Campaign uses technical information, such as your IP address or browser type, to help diagnose problems with our servers, analyze Site usage trends, track user movements on the Site, and to otherwise manage and monitor our Site.

The Campaign also uses the information voluntarily provided by individuals to send periodic e-mail updates or other information such as newsletters on issues related to health care reform including legislation, political campaigns, and other efforts and to periodically contact individuals to ask them to take action on health care reform issues, including contacting elected representatives or candidates for political office.

The Campaign may share the information voluntarily provided by individuals to America’s Health Insurance Plans (www.ahip.org) which sponsors and is responsible for maintaining the Campaign.  The Campaign does not disclose to third parties any information it gathers from the website which could be used to track your individual access and navigation of our site.   

What About the Use of Cookies?


The Campaign may use cookies to personalize and customize the experience of its visitors and to support multiple levels of access to the Campaign online.  Cookies are pieces of information, which the Campaign uses for record-keeping purposes, which the Site transfers to your computer’s Web-browser for storage on your computer’s hard drive.  Cookies allows us to better understand and monitor how many people are using our site and for what purpose.  You can delete any cookies residing on your hard drive by following the instructions for your Web browser.

The Campaign places a premium on making sure that personal identifying information remains private and secure and is not subject to misuse or manipulation.  Accordingly, this Site has industry standard security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under the Campaign's control.  Although the Campaign has endeavored to create a secure and reliable Site, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted via the Internet cannot be guaranteed.  Accordingly, you should consider carefully if you want to submit sensitive information via the Internet.  Messages that you send to us via e-mail may not be secure. The Campaign suggests that you do not send any confidential information to us by e-mail. If you choose to send confidential information to us by e-mail, you accept the risk that a third party may intercept your information.  The Campaign urges you to take every precaution to protect your personal identifying information when on-line.

What About Children?


The Campaign cares about the safety of children on its Site and encourages parents and guardians to monitor their children’s use of the Internet.
